Interviews can take place with a variety of different type of people and can enhance and provide a new, more specific perspective. Interviews with experts, key participants, and even oral histories are all examples of interviews that provide deeper insight into a circumstance or posed research question. There is a planning process that should take place when conducting an interview. You must conduct background research, carefully choose interview subjects, prepare interview questions, and make sure you consider different types of interview. And, perhaps, most importantly, you must analyze the transcript afterwards for important information that may contribute to a better understanding of your research and lead you into a new or significant direction.

In-class Writing #2:

From her own family to families around the community, the bowling alley serves as a place to come together: socializing, competing, and catching up with old friends, new friends, and family. The fact that the bowling alley is a family run business serves a model for other families as weekly visits, joining teams is passed down from generation to generation. While not only connecting families and friends, it is a place to create valuable memories.
